Quest Expedition

1921–1922

The Shackleton–Rowett Quest Expedition was Shackleton’s final Antarctic journey, intended to explore and circumnavigate the continent. Delays and engine trouble redirected the expedition to South Georgia, where Shackleton died of a heart attack—marking the end of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
